ICRC - International Committee of the Red Cross (new logistical centre)

Construction of a new logistics center

The ICRC is the developer of this project, the aim of which was to build a new centre for logistics, archives and offices in the industrial zone of Meyrin-Satigny, near the airport.

This logistics depot in Geneva would supply the whole world in pharmaceutical and orthopaedic products, as well as large equipment in order to help populations in conflict or emergency areas.
In the context described underneath, the ICRC is therefore constructing a building which will include:
- a logistics depot of 4,590m2 surface area, more than 9 metres high
- linked administrative areas: offices, meeting rooms, cafeteria
- archives located in the basement and offices linked to archiving
- a decontamination room and a treatment room

The land, property of the State of Geneva, is made available by the Foundation for Industrial Land (FTI) with free surface rights.

The FIPOI is a member of the Construction Committee.

It participates in the financing of the project by making available, in the form of an interest-free 50-year loan, a total of 26 million CHF, awarded by the Federal Assembly at the behest of the Federal Department for Foreign Affairs (DFAE)

The building was inaugurated September 15, 2011.
